edge for recruiting and retaining good employees. Your
staff and prospective employees will recognize your firm’s
perspective, knowing you understand the personal costs incurred
with commuting.

- Employers interested in sustainability and reducing their
carbon footprint will find that company-wide and green-product
efforts will filter down to the employees. Encouraging commuting
by carpooling, transit, biking, and walking can also qualify for
LEED credits.

- Tax savings - Money contributed toward commuting costs of your employees, within federal guidelines, are a tax-free benefit to your employees and tax-deductible business expense to the company.
- Employee production - Employees who use other forms of transportation (other than single occupant) often arrive more relaxed and ready to work than those who have been dealing with the stresses of traffic, parking, congestion, and highway construction.
- Visibility as a good community leader
and neighbor - Many employers are already taking sustainability and
environmental 'green' steps in the services and products they offer.
This mentality filters down to employees who want to do their part
in environmental responsibility.
